Visitor Reviews

This review submitted by NIELS JOHS LEGARTH IVERSEN,

You find this place on the hilltop left of the old town, in the park Vrh Mijan. There is a winding road leading up there, but I don't thing there is any public transport. The safest way to find the zoo is to climb the god-knows-how-many steps of the Marjanske Skale, but really… don't. This place is an abomination and is not worth your visit. It is cramped, outdated and lacks even the most basic amenities for the public, such as a toilet (though there is one somewhere in the park outside). The route through it is basically oneway. I remember a solitary tiger in a narrow cage who for some reason didn't like me and got mad whenever I passed it. Unfortunately for the tiger it could see almost the whole zoo from its cage, so it was in a total frenzy when I left after something like a quarter of an hour. I think a did us both a service by leaving. Split zoo, please close.. now!
