Official Description JOHN BALL ZOO is a 30-acre Zoo within a 200 acre park in the heart of Grand Rapids Michigan. The Zoo boasts a collection of over 1800 animals and is a leader in Zoo interactive experiences. Mammals: A troop of 6 chimpanzees, 2 Grizzly bears, otters, Pumas, Snow Leopards, Tiger, Wart Hogs, Duikers, and a variety of monkeys. The Treasure of the Tropics building contains an impressive collection of reptiles and amphibians along with many small primates. Seasonal exhibits include: Stingray Lagoon with touchable Stingrays, Sharks & new Horseshoe crabs, 2 petting corrals – Farm animals and a dozen baby pygmy goats, walk thru wallabies, camel rides, and an aviary containing 300 colorful budgies that can be fed. Non-animal attractions include a 4-story, 300-foot Zipline and an all new High-Ropes Course.
